Welcome to our home in the Dallas Countryside. Welcome to Salt Ranch.
Salt Ranch started as a dream and vision in 2019. The culmination of this vision is thanks to an incredible series of events, the strength and support of family, and a bit of serendipity. We come from a versatile background. Having lived in Budapest, Elkana (Israel,) Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Dallas, we bring a well-rounded set of experiences to this hobby farm that we have dubbed Salt Ranch.
Why Salt?
We put our blood, sweat, and tears into this venture every day.
We are good, honest salt of the earth people.
Salt is an element of the earth, helps our bodies with fluid balance, nerve transmission, and muscle function.
Where we grew up, you threw a bit of it over your left shoulder to ward off evil spirits.
Salt has a place throughout history in both religion and culture.
Why Ranch?
We are animal lovers, and fascinated by homesteading, but not quite of the caliber to give up our modern luxuries in exchange for hard labor 24/7.
We love gardening but at a supplemental scale - not grand enough to call our land a farm.
We have land, chickens, goats, donkeys, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, not enough of any of them to be a true ranch, but enough of them to keep us busy!
Salt Ranch seems fitting for this venture where we invite people to experience this peaceful but dynamic, incredible, and rural space just 15 minutes East of urban downtown Dallas.
